The TZW cooperates with waterworks by conducting joint research projects. TZW provides the link between the DVGW, the basic research at the university and the water utilities. TZW is involved in a variety of national and international research projects in all questions concerning water chemistry, water technology, microbiology, material testing, corrosion, distribution systems and security. One focus of research is water quality sensor and the testing of diverse tools with respect to their applicability under practical conditions at the test distribution network (length 150 m) available at TZW in Dresden.
